All CPD Dummies Now Officially Euro NCAP Certified (2026)

4activeSystems has achieved full Euro NCAP certification for the entire 4activeOD family of Child Presence Detection (CPD) dummies. Developed as part of the international CPD Consortium, the family covers newborns through six-year-olds and provides the automotive industry with a complete, certified toolset for CPD system validation.
Why It Matters
Every year, children are tragically left behind in vehicles. Heat builds fast, and young children cannot help themselves. Euro NCAP now requires vehicles to reliably detect whether a child is present in the cabin – validating that capability demands standardized, realistic test tools.
From First to Full
July 2025, the 4activeOD Newborn became the first CPD dummy certified under Euro NCAP CPD Protocol Version 1.3. In 2026, that milestone expands to the entire family.
Realistic by Design
Each dummy replicates age-appropriate micro-movements and breathing across four behavioral states: deep sleep, light sleep, waking up, and fully awake. A proprietary high-tech material matches the radar properties of real human tissue while fully shielding all internal components – eliminating signal distortion at the source. Compatible with radar, camera, infrared, UWB, and LiDAR.
