Software defined vehicles pose a series of challenges to the conventional testing and validation paradigm. The challenge is that conventional hardware-centric product development is organized by discrete sub-systems such as powertrain, body, chassis, lighting, and HVAC, which can be designed and tested separately before integration. Software-centric development, by definition, requires more upfront cross-functional participation, especially where the software is interdependent on many functions. The panel will discuss and explore these and related topics.
