Toolbox for embracing standards: the openDAQ approach
21 Oct 2025
Tuesday, October 21 - afternoon session
This presentation introduces openDAQ, an open-source SDK designed to address the fragmented test and measurement landscape, which is often characterized by many standards, protocols, and proprietary formats. openDAQ provides a unified API for seamless hardware integration across various devices and supported protocols, ultimately embracing industry standards for true plug-and-play functionality and reducing vendor lock-in. openDAQ aims to accelerate development for vendors and simplify integration for engineers, fostering a strong community for shared infrastructure and comprehensive support, allowing for faster development and focusing on hardware and sensors instead of software integration.
- We will kick off with an overview about the current issues in the test and measurement industry - too many standards, tools and custom integrations.
- We will continue with how openDAQ helps solve this technological fragmentation - with an open-source SDK, providing a unified API.
- We will further explain how openDAQ does away with the need for customer integrations and introduces plug&play to the test and measurement domain.
- We will explain the demo that you will be able to see at our booth.
- We will discuss your options for joining our community and how you can benefit from becoming an openDAQ member.
