Introduction followed by Beyond pass or fail: A conversation about transparency in testing
27 Oct 2026
Day 1 PM - Validating advanced technologies
Rachel Evans and Jon M. Quigley will introduce the conference and provide an overview of the 3 day’s proceedings followed by a candid conversation about transparency, trust, and the role of testing in automotive product development.
Every product begins with a hypothesis: it will meet its requirements, perform as intended, and deliver acceptable quality. Testing challenges that hypothesis – but the evidence is valuable only when organizations are willing to see it, question it, and act on it.
Drawing on Jon’s more than 30 years of automotive testing and product development experience, the conversation may explore hidden assumptions, communication barriers, test evidence, the data pipeline, configuration management, and the organizational pressures that can influence how results are reported and interpreted. This will be an open discussion – rather than a formal presentation – looking ahead at what testing can tell us, what it cannot, and why transparency will become increasingly important when the evidence challenges what we believe.
