Driveline system quality engineering and root cause investigation

27 Oct 2026
Preliminary agenda – speakers and topics are subject to change, additions or subtractions
Driveline system quality engineering ensures optimal reliability, durability and performance across all driveline architectures. The presentation will cover proactive quality: APQP and FMEA (DFMEA/PFMEA) are applied alongside validation testing and statistical methods to catch and mitigate potential failure modes early; reactive problem-solving: root cause investigations utilize disciplined methodologies – including 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, Kepner-Tregoe and Red X – to systematically resolve complex field, warranty and plant manufacturing issues; and business impact: enhances overall product quality, elevates customer satisfaction, reduces warranty costs and embeds continuous improvement across engineering, manufacturing and service operations.
  • Root cause excellence: deploy structured tools (8D, 5-Why, KT, Red X) to rapidly isolate and resolve quality issues
  • Process capability: ensure manufacturing lines consistently hit quality targets using statistical process control (SPC), robust control plans, and capability studies
  • Continuous improvement: feed field data, warranty analytics and customer feedback back into engineering to drive ongoing reliability gains
  • Performance validation: validate driveline integrity and passenger comfort through rigorous durability, NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) and reliability testing
