MCRT® 27000T and MCRT® 27820V Series Wheel Torquemeters from S. Himmelstein and Company are non-contact, rotary transformer coupled wheel torquemeters. They accurately measure wheel torque and speed during driving, braking, and coastdown. Standard units are available for front wheel, rear wheel, and all-wheel drive applications. Uses include characterization of actual driving conditions, emissions correlation, and chassis dynamometer tests. They can be easily installed without vehicle rework.  Excellent temperature compensation and a unique sensor design provides intrinsic immunity to temperature gradients and radial and cornering loads. Their design also achieves clamping load cancellation.

The wheel torque sensors have a waterproof, corrosion resistant construction and feature extraordinary immunity to extraneous loads and temperature gradients. Both wheel torque sensor series install simply without vehicle rework. There are no slip rings, ferrites, or semiconductor gages. Available capacities range from 565 to 5,650 Nm. 4 mV/V output or ±5 Volt output options are provided. All are calibrated CW and CCW to rated load in their ISO 17025:2017, NVLAP-accredited laboratory (NVLAP lab code 200487-0)
